"Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart" ~ Elizabeth Andrew
Lee’s Grand Lake Resort is blessed with so many wonderful volunteers that live in our community. Our residents have contributed countless hours, of their own time, on many projects to improve the community. The ownership of Lee’s Resort would like to express extreme gratitude for the hours upon hours of time our resident volunteers have contributed to the community.
Lee’s Resort grounds are beautiful because of our volunteers – Thank You!
Lee's Resort residents volunteered their time to build this wonderful recreation hall for gathering large groups. It was time to replace the original metal building. Although we remembered how that old metal building, with gas heat, helped unite and sustain residents during the ice storm in January 2007 when we had so many days without power.
We sure have some talented carpenters and volunteers at Lee's!

Rock, rocks and more rocks....
Have you noticed all the rocks in the previous pictures? When the current resort owners purchased Lee's Resort in 1981, they asked their kids to "help us clear the land." One of the summer projects they worked on was, making the undeveloped land suitable to bring in new residents homes. The land was very rocky. And so, off the kids went for that summer, filling up an old pickup truck and tossing the rocks over the bluff. They tossed... and they tossed.... and they tossed. They tossed until they never wanted to see another Oklahoma red rock again!
Fast forward over 30 years. The volunteers looked over that same bluff and said "those are some really beautiful rocks". And so... they hauled...and they hauled... and they hauled those SAME rocks back up the bluff and created the beautiful landscaping you see around the resort.
And now, the newly placed landscaping rocks are a sight that brings great joy to those same kids (not kids anymore)...
Thank you Lee's Resort Volunteers and Garden Club!
